Mesut Özil Trains in adidas Prototype

Mesut Özil joins the next-generation testing phase as the adidas innovation storm gathers pace. Continuing to dish out their latest concepts to players across Europe adidas are on the cusp of change, ready to spearhead a charge into an historic new chapter of design.

It's been a busy couple of weeks of player feedback for adidas with Gareth Bale and Theo Walcott both giving run outs to a new silhouette but Özil's blacked-out protoypes are different to that of the Real Madrid and Arsenal forwards. The mystery pieces in the 2015 adidas puzzle are beginning to fall into place as Özil reveals the closest look yet at part of the next-generation adidas line-up.

Some description

Özil isn't the first player to be spotted in the alternative prototype, Iker Casillas and Xabi Alonso have already got to grips with the boot, but as they make their way to non-adidas affiliated clubs the countdown to launch all of sudden gets that bit quicker. The new silo features an all-over ridged rubber texture on the forefoot of the boot suggesting that we could be looking at a brand new silo centered around control. The rear of the boot drops the rubberised pattern and is accompanied by an all-new heel counter and sole-plate.

An explosion of change is set to go off at adidas HQ in the coming months as the Three Stripes finalise preparations ahead of a dramatic shake-up across their boot line-up. New creative agency, new designers, new silos, adidas are about to re-write the rule book in their long and illustrious footballing history and it's set up to be a monumental one.
